本課程以『數學為主，影劇為輔』的方式，在課堂上解析影劇中使用的數學，使同學瞭解數學概念在所選擇的『推理類』影劇中是如何被用來解決問題，在『哲理類』影劇中感受從心靈關懷的角度對數學的詮釋，並從『傳記類』影劇中認識數學家的故事與貢獻。
隨著網路傳輸速度的提升與手機、平板電腦等數位產品的普及，透過網路平台觀賞電影與電視劇已成為普遍的現象，其中的故事題材與呈現方式也更加多元。在歐洲、美國、日本等的影劇中已有為數不少的作品將數學概念融入其中，或是將數學家的故事以傳記電影方式呈現。有別於教學影片以及收視率與票房的考量，這些影劇在劇情、演員、拍攝手法等等方面有較大的吸引力，無形中將數學概念傳遞給普羅大眾。然而，也由於商業取向以及片長限制，其中的數學概念與數學家的貢獻常常無法完整地闡述與說明。
本課程將從所選擇的三大類別（推理類、哲理類、與傳記類）數學影劇中，搭配劇情的介紹以課堂講述的方式，較為完整地解析其中的數學概念與相關知識，探究數學家的人生歷程與貢獻，以及賞析數學公式背後的美感與蘊含的哲理。概念的介紹將避免繁複或艱澀的計算與數學證明，而是引領同學欣賞數學，使同學透過影劇學習並瞭解數學之用與數學之美，達到『傳播數學文化、提升數學素養』的目標。This course uses the method of "mathematics as the main part, with film and drama as a supplement" to analyze the mathematics used in film and television dramas in class, so that students can understand how mathematical concepts are used to solve problems in the selected "mystery" film and television dramas. , experience the interpretation of mathematics from the perspective of spiritual care in the "philosophical" film drama, and understand the stories and contributions of mathematicians from the "biographical" film drama.

This course will use the three major categories of mathematical dramas (reasoning, philosophy, and biography) selected, with the introduction of the plot, in the form of classroom narration, to more completely analyze the mathematical concepts and related knowledge, and to explore mathematics.
